Purpose and Scope:
The Q.A. Manager is responsible for overseeing company wide product quality, and QC personnel. Additional duties include writing product specifications, implementing procedures, and providing training. The QA manager will ensure compliance with all appropriate regulations & procedures and interact with USDA, FDA and national chain account associates. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for activities of Quality Control personnel, which includes Q.C. work on the production line, incoming product inspections and monitoring production to insure quality, specs, and weights are met.
  • Responsible to ensure quality of product adheres to USDA, FDA, and national chain account standards.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training of quality control personnel; assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.
  • Oversee testing criteria and procedures. Directs workers engaged in testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Participates in implementation of quality control training programs to key personnel in conjunction with management.
  • Has active participation in developing programs for GMP and HACCP requirements. Audits programs and communicates quality control philosophy to personnel within the processing areas.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) from four year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with computers and Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong team player and detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of Salmon, Halibut, Sword, Mahi & Tuna.
